EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIST ? PART TIME FIXED TERM CONTRACT
A vacancy has arisen for a part-time position as Educational
Technologist on the Lifelong Learning team in South Dublin County
Partnership. South Dublin County Partnership works with people who are
socially excluded or are at risk of becoming so and promotes social
cohesion and labour market participation with a focus on the most
disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This is achieved through a range of
integrated activities in Education, Training, Job Placement, Early
Childhood Services, Enterprise Support and Community and Environmental
Programmes.
THE EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIST WILL WORK WITHIN THE LIFELONG LEARNING
TEAM TO SUPPORT OUR GROWING NUMBER OF ONLINE AND BLENDED LEARNING
PROGRAMS FOR CLIENTS ACROSS SOUTH COUNTY DUBLIN.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
* Have a relevant qualification in Educational Technology
* Have an understanding of the challenges faced by learners from
diverse backgrounds
* Have experience of blended teaching and educational technologies
* Have a through working knowledge of Moodle for both course
administration (e.g. course creation / management and user management)
and for the delivery of online learning (with Moodle as the primary
tool e.g. activity creation, structured collaborative learning, etc.)
* Be familiar with authoring tools such as Camtasia, Captivate or
Articulate is essential
* Ensure the delivery of quality distance education utilising the
latest technology
* Provide VLE course management, user management, the maintenance
and creation of materials and effectively resolving operational issues
and operating as a Subject Matter Expert in content creation and
reformatting.
* Manage multiple learning platforms; being rigorous in ensuring
that the content is of a high quality and usability to protect the
user?s experience.
* Provide regular reporting as required on key project metrics
relating to the learning platforms and services.
* Provide VLE/Moodle training as required to staff, academic teams
and students
* Apply standard ID approaches to designing course structures that
are aligned to set learning objectives and outcomes.
* Create courses using Moodle as the primary learning tool and
e-learning rapid authoring tools as appropriate to each learning
activity.
* Communicate technical and educational concepts effectively to all
levels of the organisation and across a range of technical and /or
educational experience.
* Design and deliver structured and planned training appropriate to
the need and audience.
* Identify areas for innovation and improvement from engagement and
feedback from stakeholders.
* Keep up to date with technology and platform developments to seek
and identify possible improvements to the online learning experience
for students and clients
* Gather information, statistics and prepare reports as required,
including administration of databases as appropriate to the role.
* Review progress on an ongoing basis with the Line Manager and
adapt plans accordingly
* Actively participate in team and staff meetings and service
reviews/ evaluations and to contribute to the development of policy
and practice with your area of work and within SDCP as a whole.
* Have capacity to work to deadlines
* Have excellent inter-personal and oral communication skills
* Have understanding of financial systems/procedures
* Have excellent report writing skills

CONTRACT: 1 YEAR PART-TIME FIXED TERM CONTRACT
SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with experience
